A SUMMER OF SUCCESS FOR OUR DEFENDERS IN INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

Yesterday, Juanlu Sánchez won gold in the Olympics as he became the first Sevilla player in history to do so. Loïc Badé on the other hand was left with the silver medal as Spain beat the host nation 5-3 after extra time in a thrilling game. It continued a remarkable summer for our defenders who have won a number of international tournaments. 

In total five of our players including Juanlu and Badé took home titles this summer. Jesús Navas won Euro 2024 win Spain as they defeated England 2-1 in the final. Meanwhile, Acuña and Montiel won the Copa América with Argentina as they defeated Colombia 1-0 after extra time. 

The Argentines and our captain are back in team training after enjoying a well-deserved extended break following their exploits. Juanlu and Badé will return soon to train under García Pimienta, with the season officially getting underway next Friday against Las Palmas.
