Palm Sunday got off to a brilliant start for Sevilla Atlético who picked up three points in their impressive victory at the Estadio Jesús Navas. Up against fellow relegation battlers San Fernando, the reserves were unforgiving in the second half after the first half finished with the scores tied despite Sevilla Atlético dominating. Luismi opened the scoring, but Callejón equalised from the 12-yard spot just before halftime. In less than ten minutes after the restart, a double from birthday boy Iván and another strike from Zarzana decided the game's outcome, ultimately keeping the team alive in the battle to stay in the league.

The reserves came out the blocks fighting, although it was San Fernando who had the clearest of the chances to take the lead. In the one-on-one with Saúl González, Javi Díaz came out on top and sent the ball out for a corner. The team's response couldn't have been better as Luismi opened the scoring. Cruz picked the ball up in the final third of the pitch and dribbled to the edge of the area where he sent his curling effort towards goal. The ball was helped on its way with a deflection off a defender which made it impossible for Perales to reach and thus sending Sevilla Atlético into the lead. Acejo's boys were on top and deserved a second after Nacho Quintana went close and then Capi after Iván pulled the ball back only for Capi to rush his shot and find the keeper's gloves.

The reserves were hit with a blow when Valentino brought down Calderón in the penalty area. The reserves were left a bit perplexed as moments before they also felt they deserved a penalty kick when Iván was fouled in the opposition area. However, it was to be a San Fernando spot kick and Callejón stepped up to slot it past Díaz, who almost prevented the goal. 1-1 at the break in a game completely dominated by the reserves who deserved a bit more. Nonetheless, Acejo's boys didn't rest on their morals in fixing the problem. Within ten minutes of the restart the boss made a triple substitution, bringing on José Ángel, Zarzana and Carlos. One minute later, Iván makes it 2-1 with his well-placed shot after a smart Juan María cross from the left

From there on the reserves steamrolled San Fernando just as they did in the first half but this time round the scoreline reflected the dominance. Luismi pulled the ball back for Zarzana and he sent it flying into the top corner extending the lead. The reserves were enjoying themselves and within those early ten minutes had already netted three goals with Iván applying the finishing touch. After his double in the first leg against Bahía Sur, he rounded off his birthday with the game's fifth and Sevilla Atlético's fourth. Carlos Álvarez was later denied a penalty when the referee awarded advantage to seal the victory, but he couldn't find the net. The job was done and the reserves were smart in the last half hour in which Adrián Peral and Santisteban got some minutes in. Sevilla Atlético climb out from the relegation zone and will wait to find out about the Sanluqueño result in Albacete. Now it's time to focus on the next match which is a trip to Sabadell on Good Friday against another team looking to survive
