0-2: THE SUPERIORITY OF UCAM MURCIA DEFEATS SEVILLA ATLÉTICO AT THE JESÚS NAVAS

A match typified by the lack of opportunities as UCAM Murcia come away with the three points against a Sevilla Atlético who weren't able to reach the heights it knows it can

Sevilla Atlético fell to a UCAM Murcia side in a relegation battle at the Jesús Navas. Our opponents, instructed by Salva Ballesta, were much more superior in front of goal than our reserves and came away with the three points in a match defied by Xemi's strike before the end of the first half. Despite having gone 2-0 down early in the second half to a piece of art, it must be said by Josema, the reserves were unlucky to not mount a comeback.

The start to the crunch match would be vibrant between the two teams that found themselves at the foot of the table and in need of the three points. Without a minute played, Javi Díaz was already called to action as he had to deny Rubén Mesa the opening goal with an impressive back-heel attempt. The Sevilla reaction would be instant with Zarzana firing a shot towards the visitor's goal that would smack against the post.

As the minutes went by, the reserves would get stuck in and find themselves in the opposition area more frequently. Iván Romero, after a well-measured cross sent in by Nacho Quintana from the right hand side, couldn't find the back of the net with a header that would be one of the best actions conjured up by our youngsters. Nearer the end of the first part, Xemi would UCAM ahead with a header that this time Javi Díaz couldn't prevent.

Now into the second half, Josema slotted UCAM's second home below the scurrying Sevilla after a well-worked move to further extend the scoreline. Alejandro Acejo, by this point, ran out of subs and was looking to reinvent his attacking setup as many regulars had been called up to the first team. With a comeback now seeming less likely, the reserves wouldn't give up until the end. In the closing stages of the game Santisteban saw his claim for penalty dismissed when he was taken out in the Murcia area.
