Tomás Vaclík has taken very little time to become one of those players about whom you can say 'he's fallen on his feet' since his arrival in Sevilla. The Czech goalkeeper has immersed himself fully with Sevilla and their fans right from the first game and is a key piece in Pablo Machín's system, something which the manager has already recognised: 'In football it's important to have someone who keeps them out and someone who puts them in.'

The goalkeeper, born in Ostrava, has played 16 of Sevilla's 17 official matches so far, only having a rest in the home game of the first knock-out round in the Europa League against Ujpest in Budapest. In these 16 games, Vaclík has managed to keep a clean sheet in seven games: in the away game in Ujpest, the two entire rounds against Zalgiris and Sigma Olomouc, and against Villareal and Real Madrid in La Liga.

Beyond not conceding in a large number of games, Tomas Vaclík's saves have also undoubtedly contributed to more points for Sevilla. Saves such as the penalty stop denying Morales of Levante which would have made it 2-2 and which definitely motivated the Nervionenses to push on for more goals, or the two saves against Real Madrid and Celta, the first which would have motivated Madrid in a possible comeback and the second would have put Celta in front.

The security which the Czech offers in Sevilla's goal is without a doubt an insurance for the coach and the rest of the team when they're pushing forward to score, knowing that the goal Vaclik is defending is more than safe.
