On Thursday evening, in the Round of 32 against Villanovense, Javi Vázquez made his debut for Sevilla FC, the son of the legendary Ramón Vázquez. The youth player, who played as a left wing-back, is thought well of by Pablo Machín, who calls him up for many first-team training sessions and who called him up to play this match, lasting the full 90 minutes.
His father, Ramón Vázquez, played 244 times for Sevilla FC during nine seasons, in which he notched 50 goals. He made his debut at the age of 18 in the First Division, in which he played in every season of his career, barring one season between his two spells at Sevilla where he played in the Second Division for Recreativo de Huelva. His other two teams were Deportivo de la Coruña and Albacete, where he would end up retiring after a severe injury.
