Isco, Montiel and Dmitrovic were in the spotlight after the win against FC Copenhagen at home. Talking about what happened on Tuesday night, the midfielder from Malaga was the first to speak, not only showing his delight at scoring his second goal of the game and his first as a Sevilla player but also at the team's need to win:
"The most important thing is that we've won at home, giving joy to our fans who deserved it, and showing improvement with the win. At the minute it is tough to win a match and Copenhagen also had their chances. This win is very important to remain in European competition, we know it's difficult to get that chance but Sevilla never surrender. I'm very happy with my first goal, as soon as the ball came off my foot I knew it was going in."
Gonzalo Montiel, who finished off the game in stoppage time, spoke in the same vein as Isco in terms of the confidence that this victory should generate in the dressing room: "I'm not just happy with the goal, I'm happy for the team, because we needed a win like this."
"We are working to keep improving, the first half was difficult for us but in the second we were better and that's the main thing. We have to be a cut down our mistakes in terms of losing the ball, today it went well and we have to keep improving. Rayo in the league will be a difficult opponent, but we will be looking for the three points."
To finish up, Marko Dmitrovic, who came back into the squad and kept a clean sheet, said that after the second goal his side were more relaxed: "In the second half they came out on top, we were suffering but the second goal left us more relaxed with that solo effort from Isco. The important thing was to win and leave a good impression and I think we did that."
"The only objective was to win today, the chances of staying in the Champions League are minimal, but we'll go out to win the next game, first in LaLiga and then in the Champions League. Picking up Sampaoli's ideas and continuing to improve is the only way forward. Our fans deserved it, we suffered at times, but I think we enjoyed the football and we're on the right track. Until the World Cup break we will fight to achieve as much as possible."
