Since the start of the new year, we have found some good form and are now faced with a race for the European spots. Last night's victory against Real Sociedad gave us three very important points in this race with only 11 games left to play. While the trend at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán is too many draws, Xavi García Pimienta's side have shown very good form away from home, especially in the past few months. Of the five away games in 2025, we have picked up an impressive 11 points. We won against Girona, Real Valladolid and Real Sociedad and drew against Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.
This run sees us become the team with the second best away form in LaLiga in 2025, only behind to Getafe who managed four consecutive away wins before losing to Leganes last week. Before Christmas, we only managed one victory and three draws from 9 away trips. The drastic improvement in away form has seen us become the sixth best team away from home in 2024/25. Barcelona, Villarreal, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club are the teams with a better away record.
In addition to keeping another clean sheet last night, we are the joint-third highest scorers away from home. Villarreal have also scored 20, while only Barcelona (38) and Real Madrid (24) have managed more. However, the home form needs improving. Since losing 2-0 to Real Sociedad on 3 November, we have only lost to Barcelona at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán. Although four of the last seven home games have ended in draw - against Osasuna, Valencia, Espanyol and Mallorca. We are also yet to manage two consecutive victories all season. But there is still plenty to play for as we enter the final stretch of the season.
