After Óliver Torres reached his bicentenary of appearances last week, Lucas Ocampos follows suit, making his 200th appearance for the club in the 2-1 home win against RCD Mallorca. Originally from Quilmes, he arrived at Sevilla during summer 2019, as did Óliver, and now both of them have joined an elite list of players to have represented the club 200 times. Two UEFA Europa League titles have been won during their time at the club.
Ocampos has featured in 144 LaLiga matches, 16 in the Copa del Rey, 19 in the UEFA Europa League, 18 in the Champions League, and two Spanish Supercup finals. In this time, he has managed 44 goals with the breakdown as follows: 33 in LaLiga, 5 in the Copa del Rey, 2 in the Europa League, 3 in the Champions League, and 1 in the Spanish Supercup. He has also provided 20 assists.
The versatility of our no.5 means that he has played in many positions all over the pitch, including even in goal! Following an injury to Vaclík late on against SD Eibar, Ocampos was forced to put on the gloves and pulled off a terrific save against now teammate Dmitrovic as we held on for a 1-0 win. He briefly joined Ajax on loan last season before returning to win his second Europa League title. There is no doubt that the Argentine has been one of our most influential players since arriving at Sevilla five years ago.
