Diego Alonso was understandably disappointed after Saturday's draw in Cádiz: "Whether we play well or badly, a point always tastes bad, whether it's at home or away. We're not happy. At the start, we didn't have the intensity we needed, which cost us. At 2-0 down, the team started to play with the necessary intensity and we got back on the scoreboard. We could have turned it around, but we didn't, so the point is not enough for us."

On the manner in which the two goals were conceded, he highlighted his players' error in forgetting the warnings he had given about their opponents' style: "We knew it was going to be like that. In ours talks we spoke about it, we knew that Cádiz had that characteristic, but I understand that perhaps we weren't at our best, we lowered our intensity. Once we understood the game, the team improved, scored the two goals, and could even have scored the third."

Finally, he spoke about the balance between the two previous games and what is to come in the Copa del Rey: "In the two previous games we saw good things, but today we struggled to build. We conceded two goals because of mistakes we made in crucial areas, but football gives and it takes. Against Real Madrid, we scored a goal after 20 touches. We have to give the players confidence, be calm and keep working. The cup game will allow us to give minutes to those who are going to play in the league."
