Diego Alonso, our first team head coach, gave his take on the loss against PSV. "We played really well for an hour. We could have been more than 1-0 up at the break. Again, in the second half, we could have added to our two-goal lead. But playing with ten men is tough and today it cost us."
"At this level, the Champions League, the impact of a numerical disadvantage is huge. They [PSV] are a very good side, but 11v11 we did a great job in controlling the game and putting them under pressure. We clicked nicely in attack. But they hurt us with an extra man."
He finished by saying "we'll all stick together and go again. It's a really hard one to take. We had our sights on making the knockout stage and giving the fans something to be proud of. But we must keep pushing and keep believing in ourselves. If we play like we did in the first hour, we will start getting results. We must look at the positives."
