THE CLUB AND CAPTAIN JESÚS NAVAS TO BE GIVEN RECOGNITION AT THE 2023 FDPA AWARDS

On Friday, the 'Federación de Periodistas Deportivos de Andalucía' (the Federation of Sports Journalists in Andalusia, FDPA)  announced the shortlist for its 2023 awards. Both the club and captain Jesús Navas have been given recognition for the achievements over the year. Of course, a special mention will be made to our great triumph in Budapest, our seventh UEFA Europa League title.

Jesús Navas, our club captain, was the one to lift the trophy in Hungary's capital. But he has also been successful away from the club. Earning recognition for his individual achievements, he will be awarded the 'Andaluz de oro' 2023 for the best Andalusian player of the year having also been heavily involved in the Spanish national side's UEFA Nations League campaign, clinching the title only 19 days after the Europa League success. 

Another special mention will be made to our involvement in the women's World Cup-winning squad. Now playing for Real Madrid, our former academy member Olga Carmona, who scored the winning goal in the final, and María Pérez will be present at the award ceremony, which takes place on Monday 12th February at the cultural centre of Villa San José de la Rinconada.
