GARCÍA PIMIENTA: "IT WASN'T ONE OF OUR BEST GAMES BUT WE GOT A POINT"

Xavi García Pimienta spoke after the draw at Vallecas: "We knew the type of match we were coming into. Rayo are having an excellent season this year, they are very intense and they can get into your area quickly. We had our chances in the first half, especially with Vargas, and also the header at the start of the second half, but they pressed hard and Ratiu's goal seemed to tip the balance. It wasn't one of our best games, but it was very difficult and the crowd gave their all. Lukebakio's goal earned us a point in a very difficult match." 

About Nyland's performance, he commented that “I'm very sorry about what happened on Monday, because when you make mistakes near your goal that's what happens. Today he was spectacular and I'm very happy because he deserves it. This is his level and he played really well." He also referred to more names of his own: “Vargas has been very good, it was not easy with Ratiu but he has been at a very good level. Isaac has fought with everyone and Lukebakio we know he has a talent. From nothing he can generate a chance and it's a goal of the same difficulty as their opener. There are many points left to play for, this team may suffer, but they give their all and have fought like animals. That is what must be demanded from a Sevilla player.
