Jesús Navas, our captain and legend, has etched his name further into LaLiga history, becoming the player with the fourth most appearances for just one club. Introduction from the bench during the win over RCD Espanyol was his 510th LaLiga match in a Sevilla shirt, the same total as Iker Casillas managed for Real Madrid. Raúl González Blanco (550), Manuel Sanchís (523) and Lionel Messi (520) remain ahead of him on the list.
In addition, Navas is now the player with the tenth most appearances in the history of the First Division, again level with Casillas. Over both spells at the club, our captain has broken numerous records, both at club and international level, which have helped him reach legendary status.
Continuing to be as important off the pitch as he is on it, our number 16 is now in the twilight stage of his career. The match at the RCDE Stadium was his 698th appearance in all competitions. Just two short of a nice, round number, he is in touching distance of a milestone that only an elite group of players reach.
