A Miguel de la Fuente penalty separated the teams in an even game

Jesús Navas reaching 700 appearances for the club is one of the few positives from tonight's game in Butarque. In an even contest, we had the better of the chances but could not find a goal while CD Leganés scored a penalty ten minutes from time. Agoumé's mistake handed Miguel de la Fuente a chance to take the lead from 12 yards which he made no mistake from. To add to the woes, Agoumé was sent off and we were unable to find an equaliser against our former keeper Dmitrovic. This was a painful way to finish off before the international break.

Both opening chances of the game came our way. Agoumé was millimetres away before Kike Salas headed over via a deflection. Munir then forced Álvaro into a good save, but we seemed to be comfortable without being dominant. Miguel had an opportunity while Munir found the side netting. Isaac tried his luck from distance in our only other dangerous attack before half time.

De la Fuente's penalty decided the game

The second half became a little more cagey, both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities. Miguel de la Fuente and Dodi Lukébakio both had efforts, without causing any real trouble. The game's deciding moment came ten minutes before full-time. Lucien Agoumé's defensive indecision saw him take out Cisse as the last man, resulting in a red card and a penalty to the home side. De la Fuente made no mistake, securing all three points for Leganés.

Next up for García Pimienta's side, following the international break, is an important home match against Rayo Vallecano.
