Across two spells, he made 516 appearances in LALIGA since his debut against RCD Espanyol on November 23, 2003, placing him tenth on the all-time list, just behind Lionel Messi (520) and ahead of Antoine Griezmann (510). In the Copa del Rey, he played 68 games and in the Spanish Super Cup, he made five appearances. In Europe he made 47 Champions League appearances, 65 Europa League appearances, and four in the European Super Cup. Not only is he the club's record appearance maker, he is also the player with the most trophies having won four UEFA Europa Leagues, two Copa del Reys, one European Super Cup and one Spanish Super Cup. With Spain, he is also the most successful player in history having won four international titles - Two Euros, one World Cup and one Nations League trophy.
To talk about Navas is to talk about the past, the present and also the future. In December 2017 he overtook Pablo Blanco's 415 games to become the all-time appearance maker. In his final cup appearance against Olot he also over Blanco's record for most cup appearances for the club.
