Only two members of the current first-team squad have made more appearances for the club than Óliver Torres - Jesús Navas, of course, and Lucas Ocampos. Having joined from Porto five years ago, Óliver leaves Sevilla knowing exactly what the club is about. Today, a leaving ceremony was held for him in the Director's Box at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
It was not the most convenient time for teammates past and present to join, with many already on their holidays or others, such as best friend Sergi Gómez, still in the thick of the footballing season. However, one player who did attend, representing the 'Petit Comité', formed during our 2019/20 UEFA Europa League win in Cologne, was Joan Jordán, showing all his love for Óliver on a special day.
While not all players could attend, many sent video messages, thanking Óliver and wishing him the best for the future. Club President, José María del Nido Carrasco, did the same with some departing remarks during the ceremony, emphasising the midfielder's loyalty during his time at the club. Finally, Óliver gave a speech, leaving his prepared notes in his pocket and speaking from his heart during an emotional farewell. He has given so much to this club over the past five years, but now, at 29-years-old, he moves on to the next stage of his life with memories from Sevilla that will last a lifetime.
