The four Sevilla defenders spoke after progressing past CD Quintanar in the Copa del Rey. The first to offer his thoughts on the victory was Darío, who addressed his debut for his boyhood club: “That was the happiest moment of my life for me, for my family and for anyone that knows the work I’ve put in to get to this moment. It’s a special day that I will never forget. I glanced at the scoreboard hoping that there would be time to get on the pitch and the manager gave me the opportunity do so. I think I made the most of it. Nothing comes easily in football and you have to take your chance because there is competition for every place in the team. That said, you have to enjoy the moment.”
Pedrosa, capped the win by scoring the third, also gave his take on the performance: “I was pushing for a goal or assist all game but it just wasn’t happening. The pitch and the wind made it difficult but in the end I was able to score and I’m delighted. The most important thing was to progress to the next round. We wanted to show maximum respect to the opponent by putting in a top performance. We were searching for the opener from the first minute and knew if we could score early it would make the contest much more straight forward. This club has to win every game. Working hard every day will pay off and I trust this group of players and the coach.”

Having been struggling with injuries, Nianzou added "I felt good and we won, therefore it was perfect. We must keep improving throughout the season, so hopefully this game can help us push on. Fingers crossed I won't have any more injury problems. I feel like Badé and I played well together to ensure that we kept a clean sheet."
Gattoni explained that the team always takes priority. "Everyone, including myself, wants to be on the pitch, but the result is always the priority. There are 27 of us working together to reach our goals. It was important for me to get some minutes today in preparation for whenever the team needs me. There are plenty of games to be played throughout the season, I know that there will be opportunities for me."
