JUANLU: "THIS WAS FOR THE FANS, THEY DESERVE IT"

Following his Man of the Match performance, Juanlu Sánchez spoke to the media. "This was such an important victory. So many fans made the long trip up from Sevilla - this was for them, they deserve it. Today's performance was the result of our hard work over the past few weeks. Getting the three points is so important, but now we have another big game against Mallorca next week. I think this is the first time I've scored a brace; scoring goals for Sevilla really is a dream come true."

Adrià Pedrosa was also very please with the performance, stating, "We're all delighted. We showed our ability to score goals, something we've struggled to do at times. It'll serve as a big confidence booster going into the next games, in which we will also be desperate to get the three points. I thought we played really well both in defence and attack. The performance and the result are very important. We've had games where we've played well but just been unable to convert our chances, but that was not the case today. This is a really important result for us."

Finally, Kike Salas revealed, "We really went for it from the very first whistle. We scored early on and never looked back. This type of game fills you with confidence, we're all over the moon with the victory. I'm delighted for Juanlu as well, he works harder than anyone, he really deserves this. He's not a striker, but today he showed his excellence in front of goal. On a personal note, I'm feeling good and happy with the support of the team and the coaching staff. We have to follow this up with another win against Mallorca next week. The away fans were brilliant today and really gave us a boost. This is a result to celebrate together, they deserve it and I wish them all a safe journey home."
