GARCÍA PIMIENTA: "WE DESERVED MORE"

Following Friday's defeat aagainst Valencia, Head Coach Xavi García Pimienta stated, "I never talk about the referee, but it's obvious today that decisions didn't go our way. The penalty was overturned by VAR, but I think Valencia's goal comes after a foul in the build up that could have been given. Isaac goes down on the edge of their box, I'm not sure whether he's in or out, but it's not given and then they go down the other end and score a goal that proves to be the winner. It's worth noting that they scored after the allocated additional time had been played. I don't want to make excuses, but unfortunately these decisions weren't on our side today."

"We played well in the first half, created chances, had a goal disallowed, the penalty... We had some decent efforts. The players fought well and were in the game. We probably deserved more given the attitude of the players and on the balance of play. But without a clinical edge, these things can happen. We have to keep working hard but I have full faith in the boys."
