Our head coach, Quique Sánchez Flores, was very happy with the players' attitude and performance having won in Ferrol. "I think that we played well overall. We knew it wouldn't be easy, especially away from home against a team that haven't lost here in over a year. We knew they'd try to be positive and that it would be a difficult match. We started well and managed to get ourselves in front within the first half, but it is frustrating that we conceded so early in the second. But overall we played well. We controlled the ball well, we played with good fluency and we created plenty of chances. I am very pleased with the boys, that was an important victory."
Also, he indicated that player recoveries were going well. "We still have many players absent, and I'm very happy to be able to include some academy players in the matchday squad. But the good news is that we have players starting to return from injury which will be very important moving forward. Even with many of the boys unavailable, we did really well today - we were very coordinated and very disciplined. We're all satisfied."
Finally, he talked about Macao. "We spoke with him before coming. He really wanted to play and that is important. He had a great game today, reading the play, defending the ball and scoring. It was a really special day for him having lost his father, but he wanted to be with us and for that we thank him. This victory is dedicated to his father."
