Ivan Rakitic, one of our captains, was the first to address the media following the defeat to Getafe CF. "It's not a good feeling. Not for me, not for the rest of the boys, and not for the fans. I apologise to the fans that always stick by us because we were not good enough today. I promise that we will get back on track. It might be one of the hardest points of my career, but I will not give up until we get back to where we should be. I know that we are all committed to doing this. I would like to thank Diego for his hard work and I apologise that we as a squad couldn't accomplish what he had in mind. It is not a time to say too much, just to ask for forgiveness. It is much easier to talk when you win and have something to celebrate. But as captain, I have to set an example and keep fighting. I promise that we will all work tirelessly until we recover the situation.
Dmitrovic also spoke, stating that "it is a horrible night, the worst of the season. It really hurts. We have to thank the coach for everything he's done, he is not to blame. We as players are responsible. It is boring to say it again, but we have no other option than to go back to the training ground and put in the hard yards. We understand the anger of the fans, it's normal. We will do everything we can to win the next game. Getafe gave us a lesson tonight, we have to learn from them."
