Club president, José María del Nido Carrasco, made a statement this Tuesday morning on Sevilla FC+, where he confirmed and explained a new framework of relations with Real Betis Balompié and also confirmed that he will attend Sunday's derby: “ We have accepted the invitation of Real Betis Balompié and will attend the derby at the Benito Villamarín on Sunday. There have been contacts between both presidents and we have understood the need to establish a framework that should govern the relationship between both institutions and that framework should have fluid communication, honest relationship and that the derbies are played on the pitch, avoiding improper conduct off it. This framework is for the present and for the future and to play the derbies on the pitch, with fluid communication, avoiding improper conduct, even in those matters that benefit both Real Betis and Sevilla FC, or in any kind of institution or any type of effort for situations that may benefit both and even collaborate together."
“Both Real Betis and Sevilla FC have understood the responsibility of the positions we hold, the responsibility of such important institutions in a city like Seville and the importance of both clubs for this city and we have seen the need to establish this framework that should govern our relations in the present and in the future, which as I have already said should be based on honest, fluid relations and letting the derbies be played on the pitch,” he added.
“We are up against an opponent who are in a good run of form with five wins in a row, but we come into the game with the desire to go there, fight for the win and with the utmost respect and to try to get the win for our fans," he finished by saying.
