In a special event, no one wanted to miss the opportunity to say goodbye to a legend with a number of former teammates in attendance at the Navas' farewell. Recalling the early years of the career of Jesús Navas, Andrés Palop and Frederic Kanouté were invited on stage. Our former goalkeeper recognised that “Jesús showed us what we needed, that feeling. He was very young, but with one look he told us that we had to defend the badge. He was the ideal person for that. With humilit and hunger which he has continued to show throughout his career."

Kanouté compared that Navas with the current one: “Years later you see that he has become a leader. We knew him as a teenager, but he had such a great love for football that he has passed on to all his teammates. It is admirable what he has become.” Moving forward in time, two world champions spoke alongside about 2010. Carlos Marchena recalled “He is an example of constant improvement. To see us there in South Africa three Sevillians raised in the youth academy of Sevilla and world champions ... is a source of pride."

Similarly, Sergio Ramos spoke: “We have grown up together. We have had the good fortune to share a career and many moments. It is perseverance and overcoming. I'm glad he has achieved such a special career and is the greatest legend of this club. May he leave that legacy to all those who will come after him. He is a national hero and that is why people love him so much." As if that were not enough, the current Ballon d'Or winner, Rodri Hernández, also spoke: “He is the only player who has been able to win with both generations. He has been very important on and off the pitch. It was a group of very young players and he taught us the way, the discipline, and day-to-day. He is an example in every way. He has something that when you are with him, you win. And Sevilla fans know that."
