JESÚS NAVAS RECEIVES THE "HIJO PREDILECTO DE ANDALUCÍA" AWARD

Jesus Navas received this Friday the honourary "Hijo Predilecto de Andalucía" award - the highest recognition in the region. After the announcement made public last Sunday by the president of the Junta de Andalucía -Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla- and the approval in the subsequent Governing Council, the captain and Sevillista legend was honoured on the Día de Andalucía by the president of Andalucía, Jesus Aguirre.

In a gala held - as usual - at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Navas was accompanied by club president, José María Del Nido Carrasco, as well as by his immediate family. It was an emotional ceremony as Navas was honoured for being the player with the most titles in the history of the Spanish national team and the highest appearance maker in the club's history.

In his speech, he pointed out the pride he feels with this recognition: “First of all, I would like to congratulate all the award winners, who are wonderful people. To imagine so much affection and recognition from my region was not expected, so I begin by thanking everyone. For me, it was unthinkable to be here so I dedicate this tribute to my roots, I am proud of the values that have been instilled in me since I was a child, especially with my grandparents. From the capacity for work that accompanied me throughout my career, I thank you for the "Hijo Predilecto de Andalucía" award. That little boy who fell in love with football never imagined that today he would be so happy."
