Sevilla Atlético was defeated by AD Ceuta in the first match of the second half of the season in Group II of the Primera RFEF. The away team, who had several great chances to break down Ceuta's defense, returned empty-handed from Ceuta after Carlos Hernández scored the only and decisive goal in the final moments of the first half. With an extra player on the field in the second half following the expulsion of Víctor Corral, the reserve team pressed AD Ceuta into their own area, but the Ceuta side held strong defensively. Collado’s best chance in the second half came with a shot that hit the woodwork.
After the initial whistle and ten minutes of balanced play on the pitch of the Estadio Municipal Alfonso Murube, Antonetti nearly put the reserve team ahead with a good attacking move from the Puerto Rican forward. The response from the Ceuta side resulted in a penalty, with Alberto Flores becoming the hero by saving the spot-kick from former Sevilla player Rodri. The match then entered a phase where both teams created dangerous opportunities in the opponent's area. In a new local attack, Rodri scored a goal that was ruled out for offside, before Mateo Mejía tried his luck twice following a cross into the area from Hormigo.
After the halfway point of the first half, Manu Bueno left the field due to injury, making way for Nico Guillén. In the final moments of the first half, Carlos Hernández put the hosts ahead, taking advantage of a defensive mistake by the Sevilla side. Still in the first half, AD Ceuta would be reduced to 10 men after Víctor Corral was sent off for a harsh tackle on Nico Guillén. Before the players headed down the tunnel to the locker rooms, Antonetti once again created danger in the opponent’s area, heading the ball just wide after a good cross from Rivera.
Collado could have scored the equalizer with a shot that was saved by the woodwork
In the second half, Robert Jalade finished off the first opportunity for the Sevillistas after coming on at the restart. Mateo Mejía, from the right flank, delivered a great cross to the heart of the area where, by a very small margin, Ibra Sow failed to make contact. The team led by Jesús Galván warned and put pressure on, forcing Andrés Castrín and Pedro López into a great save to prevent the equalizer. The Sevilla coach made substitutions in the second half, bringing on Collado after he recovered from his injury. The Sevilla reserve team exhausted their options with a shot from Collado that hit the woodwork. Dani Aquino had a chance to seal the match, but Alberto Flores made a reflexive save to keep his team in the game.
