Sevilla FC Women played to a goalless draw against RCD Espanyol this Sunday afternoon (0-0). David Losada’s side, aiming for their third consecutive victory in 2025, secured a point from a traditionally difficult venue, although they fought until the end to claim the full reward.

In the first half, both teams showed mutual respect. Sevilla FC had a slight edge and reached the opponent’s area more frequently with long-range shots, but the score remained unchanged by halftime. First, Padilla Bidas tried her luck from distance after a few timid approaches, followed by Lucía Corrales, who made several attempts to open the scoring against Mar Segarra. Before the half-hour mark, Julia Guerra and Carol Marín also had chances for Sara Monforte’s side, though without posing significant danger.

Halftime arrived without major changes, though there were a few more attempts, such as a shot from Débora García that Segarra saved in two stages. After the break, the match maintained its balance on the field, and the home team even scored a goal that was disallowed due to an offside position by Daniela Caracas. With substitutions on both sides, the coaches sought to tip the scales. While the Catalan team applied pressure during a specific phase of the game, Sevilla once again showcased the strong defensive work executed by both the coaching staff and players in this stage of the competition.

Finally, the score remained unchanged in the second half, and Sevilla FC women earned a valuable point, continuing their streak of consecutive matches without defeat, as well as securing a third consecutive clean sheet for captain Esther Sullastres. The next challenge will be to maintain the good form in another highly demanding match, this Sunday at home against UD Costa Adeje Tenerife, a tough test following the setback in the first round, when the team, now much more developed, was just starting out.
