Sevilla FC Women were defeated by UD Tenerife (0-2). Despite not having a bad performance at the Jesús Navas Stadium, the home side saw the opponent capitalize on almost every opportunity they had on goal against Sullastres.
In the first half, despite several Sevilla attempts on Noelia Ramos' goal, it was the Tenerife side who opened the scoring thanks to a play that ended with a goal from Babajide after a rebound, just before the first ten minutes of the match had passed. Following the goal, the visitors sought to dominate more, but the homeside did not lower their tempo or intention in terms of creating chances.
With the result being a narrow defeat, the second half began, with the tempo remaining the same and no changes in either team. However, ten minutes in, as it had happened at the start of the match, a play between María José and Babajide ended with a header from Gift Monday, which resulted in Tenerife's second goal against Esther Sullastres' goal. After that goal, substitutions began, with the coach from Gines bringing on Alba López, Millaray Cortés, and Fatou Kanteh to refresh all areas of the field. A few minutes later, Alba Cerrato was also substituted in. With these changes, the team continued to push in attack, but the scoreboard remained unchanged, although the forward was eventually sent off.
With this defeat, the unbeaten streak comes to an end, but it should not overshadow the effort of a team that has been doing well at the start of 2025. The next match will take the Sevilla FC Women's team to the Wanda Alcalá de Henares Sports Center, where Atlético de Madrid awaits next Friday.
