In the end, a relatively comfortable victory. However, Sevilla FC did make hard work of the Thursday night match in the Europa League against Dudelange. The first half remained goalless throughout and it wasn't until the second half when Mudo Vázquez scored a brace, and Munir added another afterwards that eased the pressure. Now, Sevilla lead the group with nine points out of nine and are sitting pretty, with qualification for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League firmly in their own hands.

In the first half, Sevilla FC weren't able to find the back of the new despite having a dozen chances, four of them on target. Escudero had the first one, Dabbur had one after and then Mudo had two himself. Once again, Escudero had another chance but he could only hit the bar after he followed up on a rebound. Despite being in their own half for pretty much the whole first half, Dudelange did threaten with the only chance they created in that half, with Sinani's shot just going past Bono's far post.

Sevilla opened the scoring just after the break, with Vázquez's header

Lopetegui's team started the second half just as they had played the first: dominating the ball however now, with much more purpose as they started to turn up the heat. With hardly three minutes played of the second half, Óliver dribbled down the left-hand side, got his head up and put a cross right on the head of Mudo Vázquez, who made no mistake to put Sevilla one nil to the good.

Before grabbing his brace, Franco Vázquez could have had another goal from a header. This time it was Pozo's cross from the right wing which nearly ended up in a goal for Sevilla; however, Mudo's header was too central and straight at Joubert. A minute later, Munir, after some good individual work, had a shot which went just over the bar.

The Argentine scored a brace and could have had another, while Munir rounded off the victory not long after coming off the bench

With just a quarter of an hour remaining of the game, the game itself was put to bed. In just two minutes, Sevilla scored twice. The first game from Vázquez after he followed up a shot from Munir, which the 'keeper could only parry into the path of Mudo - who made no mistake with the follow-up. Munir then got on the scoresheet himself as after receiving a good pass from Escudero, he finished coolly to make it 3-0.

Now with nine points on the board in the Europa League, Sevilla can now turn their attentions to Sunday's visit of Getafe in Matchday 10 of La Liga. The game will kick off at 18.30.
