The Brazillian Guilherme Arana was the main guest on "A Balón Parado' on SFC TV. The wing-back, who will soon complete his first year as a Sevilla player, recognises that everything is going much better this season: 'I'm very happy. It's my best spell in football and here in Europe. I didn't get much playing time last season and it was difficult because I was out of shape, but I worked a lot over the holidays. I was used to playing in Brazil, but when I arrived here things were different. I spoke with my family and they told me to stay calm and keep working, because the opportunity will come and that things would work out.'

In fact, Arana says that the club guided him on what to do over the summer: 'Caparrós called me to speak to me and he told me that I had to look after and improve my fitness during the holidays. He was right because I'm young and I want to play but to do that you need to be in good shape. I got to Brazil and I enjoyed my holidays, but I also worked hard. When I came back, he smiled when he saw me because he saw the change. I'm grateful for that advice because now I feel very good.'

Last season his playing time was away from home, hence he was very keen to play in Nervión this season: 'It's a special feeling to play in front of such amazing fans. I'm at a club where the fans are very demanding and when I speak with my friends and family, I tell them that you can only understand it by living it.' Going back to sporting matters, he knows that there is still much room for improvement: 'The offensive side of the game is my best asset, but you have to adjust to your role and I always watch videos in order to improve, not just of myself but other players like Roberto Carlos. Right now I think that I'm at 80% of what I'm capable of, but I don't think I'll ever get to 100% because that would mean that I've stopped learning.'

To conclude, the wing-back made his ambitions clear: 'I want to play for my national team and play in a World Cup, but for that, you have to go one step at a time and work hard. You have to have faith and determination, but I think that it's a dream for every footballer to play for their country.'
