BANEGA: “WE NEED TO READ THE GAME MORE”

Ever Banega was downtrodden following Sevilla's defeat against Betis, because for the Argentinian "this was not just any match, it's been a long awaited game and losing against the local rivals is tough for us, especially with their 5 goals. It is true that we equalised twice, but we weren't able to secure the win". 

"We should read the game a little more. The team pressed in the first half, but not so much in the second and we need to try and resolve this. The team started ahead with quick transitions...We tried to implement what our new manager had asked. We haven't trained with him for long, but that is no excuse", he added. 

With regards to the fans, he recognised that "the fans are just as angry as us, but the team always faces up to the challenge and fights until the end. It has been a painful defeat but we will fight to the death".
