It's time to keep taking convincing and assured steps forward - that's how Eduardo Berizzo wants to progress with a Sevilla FC side that gave everything this past Tuesday against Liverpool and will look to do the very same this Sunday against Villarreal CF: "The draw the other day filled us with energy - thinking about our qualification. Tomorrow we come up against a side that plays very good football and is going to demand a lot of us to get a good result. They're a team who've changed their style of play compared to what they used to do, there's been a redesign they've found comfort in, with dangerous forwards. And it seems repetitive but the weapon of having the ball plays a very important role in driving the game. When we have it we're a completely different team".

"I pick players who play and see the game as I do"

A clash where we won't see Kjaer, who Berizzo confirmed: "has a strain in his abductor muscle, so we want to be careful not to expose him to a match that could complicate things"; meanwhile, on the absence of N'Zonzi, he said "it's a tactical decision. I intend to use a different team, with players who play and see the game as I do. I always pick the best for our team and I select the players needed to win. In this case I thought it best".

"Banega and Franco Vázquez turned the game around, they made us move forwards"

He denied that there would be too many "rotations", stating: "we only need to reinforce a couple of areas on the field", going on to praise the work of Banega and Franco Vázquez after their fantastic performances against Liverpool: "The performances of players like them turned the game around, they turned Liverpool into a totally defensive side and they forced us to move forwards. We needed to play with so much more tightness and the tactical reshape had its influence. "Mudo" contributed lots of balls to the attack and our opponents barely got out of their own half. We didn't come back from three goals against an opponent that had put itself far ahead by fluke, we did it thanks to a team who played really well. That gives it even more value".

"To be part of a mysticism that transforms our stadium is a unique thing"

It was a comeback in which the fans also played a crucial role for Berizzo: "I was aware of the atmosphere of the Sánchez-Pizjuán as an opponent but to be where I am, as part of a mysticism that transforms our stadium into a fortress - it's a unique sensation. A lot of what happened on Tuesday has to do with the fans, who get excited when the team plays like that. In the second-half we did those people - who want to see their team play well - justice. When your team plays as if you were on the pitch with them, giving their everything, the fans become another player".

On that epic night, Sevilla FC took a step forward in the fight for their aims this season but Eduardo Berizzo certainly didn't want to give any grade for his team's performance this season: "We're getting close to qualification in the Champions League, we're close to the knock-out stages, alive in the Cup... I wouldn't want to grade the team, that's for our final tests but we're slowly answering questions confidently, without being exempt from struggles. We're moving forward in a way where we'll bring everything we haveWe need to keep winning games but we we're taking solid and important steps. La Liga does not end on matchday 13 and the important thing is that the final grade is what we want. We need to keep answering questions well and finish with a 10 out of 10. We're in a demanding situation, we've already played away against direct rivals who will have to come to us in the second part of the season and our challenge is to keep that high position, keep winning matches, solving problems and put ourselves in a good position to be able to push ahead".
