Club Chairman José Castro gave official Sevilla FC media a brief verdict on the Champions League Group Stage Draw: "We are happy. We have to be extremely pleased with what we are doing. Three consecutive years in the Champions League, five of the last eleven seasons... I think we have to be very satisfied. With regards to the draw, it could have been worse because there are many big teams, but it's demanding. We have the Russian champions, Liverpool, who are a great team, and then Maribor, who despite being in Pot Four, gave us a difficult games in 13/14, I remember, when we drew 2-2 with them away and beat them 2-1 in the Sánchez-Pizjuán. It means the group is demanding, but Sevilla has the ambition to finish top, to have no limits in the group and to give everything".

Castro confirmed "the objective is to reach the knock-out stages, hopefully to get to the quarters. Last year we were able to get to the knock-out stages but not the quarter-finals, and this season we have to take one step further. But at Sevilla we don't 'settle' for anything, though we always have our feet on the ground. We have the objective of getting to the knock-outs and then the quarter-finals".

Asked finally about the possibility of reinforcements who could arrive, with Champions League football already in the bag, the Chairman said "it's perfectly well known we are looking for a left-back and we are hoping to find that player before the market closes, but that has nothing to do with the money the Champions League brings with it. This was known long ago and the truth is, for us, the prestige the Champions League brings with it is much more important than the money".
