Daniel Carriço reached an important milestone with yesterday's match against Valencia CF. The Portuguese centre-back reached his 150th game as a Sevillista. It comes in a season in which the defender has got back to his best after a couple of seasons in and out of the team through injuries. Carriço has now been at Sevilla for six seasons since arriving in the summer of 2013 from Reading.

Cuerpo Inferior

This is Carriço's second-best season in terms of appearances, appearing in 33 games this season - 19 in La Liga, 11 in the Europa League and three in the Copa del Rey. He only appeared more in his second season in Andalusia, the year the team won the Europa League in Warsaw, when he played 45 games. Problems with injuries kept him from the starting line-up in previous seasons, only appearing in 16 matches in each of the last two seasons. However, his desire and commitment, traits that he has always displayed, have got him back into the fold.

Only Jesús Navas has played more games than Carriço in the current squad and Carriço is the player with the most consecutive seasons at Sevilla. At only 30 years old, turning 31 in August, and contracted until 2020, Carriço can dream of adding more honours to his name at Sevilla, a trophy cabinet which includes three consecutive Europa Leagues.
