In the 21st century, Sevilla FC have rediscovered the glory which was lost to a certain extent over the course of the second half of the previous century. The greatness of the teams of the 30s, 40s and 50s returned, despite the fact that the club began the century in the second division. The numbers are irrefutable. Sevilla FC are in the Champions League places for the 21st century. To be precise, they are in fourth place in the top flight, with 975 points, 90 behind third-placed Valencia CF. Real Madrid, with 1,418, and Barcelona, with 1,399, lead the historic LaLiga ranking for the current century.

Only Madrid, Barça, Valencia, Sevilla, Atlético and Villarreal, in that order, have passed the 900 point mark

Behind Sevilla FC, making up the rest of the top ten, are Atlético Madrid with 966 points; Villarreal CF, 934; Athletic Club, 893; RCD Espanyol, 802; RC Deportivo La Coruña, 785; and Málaga CF, 723.

In the 21st century, Sevilla FC have played 608 matches, won 280, drawn 135 and lost 193. Sevilla FC and only three other teams (Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid) have scored more than 900 goals, with a total of 929.

In the last two decades, Sevilla are sixth with over 1000 points, despite having played three campaigns in the second division

Sevilla FC are also up there in the ranking since there has been a 20-team league with 3 points for a win. Sincé 97/98, in the last 20 campaigns, Sevilla FC, despite spending three years in the second division, are sixth with 1,003 points, 65 points behind fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao with 1,068. Atlético have 1,110 and Valencia CF 1,249. Real Madrid are second, with 1,611, while FC Barcelona are the leaders on 1,616. Behind Sevilla FC are Villarreal CF, with 970 points; Deportivo, 966; Espanyol, 963; and Real Sociedad, 873.
