Johannes Geis was presented to the press as a Sevilla FC player this Tuesday morning. The centre-midfielder seemed very excited by his new club and when asked about his loan, was convincing: "I don't consider Sevilla a stepping stone in my career. It's a leading club and if I do well and the club wants me, why not stay here? That's something I would like."

Regarding his first few days with the team he said he'd: "already spoken with Berizzo and he has been very clear with me. He has told me what he expects from me, direct football and high pressure. I'm going to need a bit of time to adapt. I wan't to learn the language and I want to be at my best to help my team-mates".

He was asked more specifically about his best position: "Where I feel most comfortable is in the most defensive central-midfield position, but I can adapt to what the boss wants. It's a leading team and I'm going to try and find my place in it to help the club".

"Berizzo has told me what he expects of me"

Talking about his playing role, he said "in the system we play with we have great players like Nzonzi and Pizarro. We could play one, two or three in midfield. The important thing is that we play as a team and if we do that, things will be easy".

He was also asked about the impressive performances of other Shalke 04 players - like Pouslsen, Rakitic and Coke - who also played for Sevilla: "They are good players and they did well in Germany and at this club. I'm very happy to be here. Coke has told me wonderful things about Sevilla, about the city, that I was going to find a great family and an impressive stadium. Coke did a great job for Sevilla".

Finally, he talked about his first impressions of the team: "I'm going to try and give everything I have in training. Players come to play and that's what I have to do now: get down to it and get to my best quickly".
