LOPETEGUI: THE ONLY SEVILLA FC COACH WITH OVER 50 MATCHES TO CONCEDE LESS THAN A GOAL PER GAME

Julen Lopetegui reached his fiftieth league match in charge of the Club against Real Valladolid last week, moving up to 51 after Tuesday's win at the Mestalla. The victory against Valencia CF was his 75th match in total in charge of the Club since his arrival in the summer of 2019, and his stats in that time are more than noteworthy, winning 43 matches of 75 and presenting an unbeaten rate of over 80%.

Managing fifty league games, Lopetegui has entered a select club of twenty managers in the history of Sevilla FC. Only two dozen managers have reached this feat with the Club, a stat which speaks for the great work Lopetegui has carried out in his year and a half in Seville. Julen heads the list of coaches as the only Sevilla manager to concede less than a goal a game: the team let in 0.86 goals per game in the 51 Lopetegui has managed.

Only Helenio Herrera, Juande Ramos, and Manolo Jiménez have a win rate better than 50% in the league

The full list is made up of: Joaquín Caparrós, Manolo Cardo, Unai Emery, Helenio Herrera, Carriega, Campanal I, Jiménez, Ramón Encinas, Juande Ramos, Miguel Muñoz, Antonio Barrios, Patricio O'Connell, Luis Aragonés, Vicente Cantatore, Max Merkel, Javier Azcargorta, Víctor Espárrago, Luis Miró and Patricio Caicedo. Caparrós has the most matches managed with 167, and Lopetegui will equal Caicedo's tally of 52 matches this Tuesday against Villarreal CF.

Only three of the twenty - Helenio Herrera, Juande Ramos, and Manolo Jiménez - have a win rate better than 50% in the league like Lopetegui. Herrera won 64 of his 120 matches, Ramos 44 of his 83, and Jiménez 51 of his 97. Lopetegui has won 26 of his 51 matches managed. Lopetegui also leads the list in terms of least losses, with the ten losses he has presided over giving the team an unbeaten rate of over 80% under Julen.
