A good start to the preseason for Sevilla FC in today's match in Suwon in the Coupang Play Series against Tottenham Hotspur. The first half was particularly notable in which the team, which featured mostly first-team players, pushed high and worried Tottenham with some clear chances, with Lamela the closest hitting the post. In the second half, which saw a majority of academy players on the pitch, Tottenham went in front with Kane but we hit back in the 64th minute with a brilliant strike from Rakitić. Iván Romero even had a chance for the winner at the end but he fired it just wide. Even so, the team will be leaving South Korea happy after a positive camp and first game.

We didn't take long to show our game in the first half, moving the ball forward quickly and pressing high up. Both teams struggled to find proper scoring chances but managed to get into good areas, especially Sevilla. Our backline managed Tottenham's deadly trio well, with Son having a shot from distance in the 15th minute. Kane had the ball in the back of the net later on, but he was ruled out for offside. That's when our best minutes would come with Papu forcing Lloris to send his shot wide for a corner, Lamela would strike the post and Rafa Mir would fire into the side of the net.

In the second half, both managers made changes but Lopetegui rotated the most, making ten substitutions. Tottenham would open the scoring early on through Kane after good play from Son. But our side, largely academy players at this stage, got back up and fought their way back into the game. We regained our control of the match and that would end up materialising in the equaliser which came from a wonderful lay-off from Luismi which Rakitić met with a strong, pinpoint shot that flew into the net.

Tottenham made more changes, introducing ex-Sevilla player Bryan Gil, but they would not regain the upper hand they had at the start of the second half. Sevilla even had a final wind when Iván Romero almost scored a winner, sending a shot just wide of the post. With the camp now over in South Korea, the team will be heading back to Seville with arrival scheduled for Monday afternoon. The next stop is Portugal where we have a match against Sporting awaiting us.
