Lucas Ocampos, Nemanja Gudelj, Joan Jordán and Youssef En-Nesyri starred in the victory against PSV Eindhoven.

With regard to what happened in our first game back in the Europa League, Ocampos was the first to speak to the media: "It was always going to be a tough game. We started well but then were made to suffer before we got in-front. In the second half we were brilliant at extending the lead in our home in front of our fans, and we go into the game next week with the advantage. There is a certain type of confidence you take when you are going through a process of transformation. It is never easy to change coach and the style of play, but now I think the team understands his ideas, we know what the badge means to us and today we were able to enjoy ourselves with the fans."

He added: "My goal came at an important time and it will stay with me. I felt a lot of emotions after it: rage, happiness, nervousness... the important thing is that the team came together to win and we all showed the right mentality- that this team is ready to fight for the same goal. When things are going as badly as they have done, you begin to doubt yourself. That period is now over, I am back here and it was as if nothing had changed, I was resilient."

Nemanja Gudelj, another goalscorer on the night, described what it means for the team to play in the Sánchez-Pizjuán: "Lately at home we have been the Sevilla we want to be. Today we played very well and it was a professional performance, pressing them up top and scoring goals. The result can make us relax a bit, but we have to go to Eindhoven with the same mentality and concentration and we can't switch off."

Speaking about his goal: "It was a beautiful bit of skill from Ocampos and then I just didn't overthink it, I just shot. I will now miss the next two games but the team is very strong and we have some very good players. We are getting better day-by-day and we have to keep this up."

Joan Jordán also spoke about the improvement of the team, which has been followed every step of the way by a brilliant fanbase who deserved to see such a great victory: "The first 30 minutes were difficult for us, we struggled in transitions and we were not comfortable. We scored the first goal and we stopped feeling so uncomfortable after half-time as we put pressure on them, and became the more dominant side. The result was overwhelming, we kept a clean sheet which is important as it gives us confidence and so we will head into the game on Thursday looking to win it, but knowing that we have to be focused."

"The fans have suffered as much as us and our families but when we give our all, the fans are incredible. It's a joy that the team's dynamic is changing and that our play is improving because we are going to enjoy ourselves a lot more and become more confidence. We still have a lot to improve as a team and as individuals, this is what we must keep working on... now our attention turns to the league and then to Thursday."

To close, Youssef En-Nesyri also showed his delight at continuing to help the team with another goal to add to his account: "The most important thing for me was to leave the fans feeling happy, and that is why I was alert in the box. I thank the fans and my teammates for their help, and now we have to go there thinking that it is 0-0 and we do not hold an advantage. For me, every game is important and we will go to Vallecano looking to secure three points. I am content with the work of all of my teammates."
