Gonzalo Montiel was interviewed by the media during his presentation as a Sevilla FC player on Thursday. The right-back admitted that his Argentinian compatriots have already helped him to settle in at the club and the city: 'They've told me what it's like to live here and that makes day-to-day life easier. It is a very big club, they've told me that the club has a lot of history and it's a great place to play.'

In terms of his aims, he made it clear that he wants to 'continue improving both as a person and a player. I want to work every day to become a better player and to help the team. I come with hunger to play, I'm hardworking and I will give it my all.' He is also aware that he faces hard competition for the right-back position: 'First and foremost, Jesús is a great guy. He's told me some great things about the club, and he's won many trophies here. I'm ready for healthy competition.'

He was also asked about the similarity between the Sevilla and River Plate fans: 'I've heard that they're quite similar, and I can't wait to play so I can hear them.' Speaking about what most attracted him to the club, the Argentine said that it was mainly the 'style of play, the intensity and the hunger to chase down the opponent. That's what stood out most for me.'

Regarding the upcoming international break and the date clashes with the South American Football Confederation, he made it clear that all his attention was on the next game against Elche: 'Up to now, we haven't heard anything. We're focused solely on the game on Saturday.' He concluded by explaining why now feels like the right time to join Sevilla: 'A lot has happened. This opportunity came up and it's a great team. I'm happy to be here and I can't wait to get started.'
