PSV Eindhoven trained at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Tuesday evening. After their last visit in the Europa League in February earlier this year, the Dutch side, with Luuk de Jong now among their ranks, were reacquainted with the stadium in their evening training session. Just before they went out onto the grass, PSV manager Peter Bosz addressed Wednesday night's crucial meeting in his pre-match press conference: "They have the chance to turn their situation around tomorrow, including their league form. In the reverse fixture, they had a different coach and since then the style of play has changed. This means we'll have to adapt our game to counterract them, but everyone saw how many chances there were for both sides when we played in Eindhoven. That is Sevilla's strength. They've got some fantastic players and we'll have to be at our best to win tomorrow. They have no option but to throw everything they have at us right from the start, but we'll be ready. We can't underestimate them, because they don't need many opportunities to score."

Mexican winger Hirving Lozano also gave his thoughts in the lead-up to the game: "It'll be a great game, a difficult one, but these are the matches you want to be part of. This stadium has an incredible atmosphere that spurs them on and we have to embrace the challenge and the occasion in order to produce our best football. It's a tough place to come but we've been working hard and we're up for the test. I think it's a game in which the home fans will give [Sevilla] their full backing."
