Champions League fever has hit Seville once again. With just under three days until Sevilla FC face Manchester United in the round of 16 of the biggest competition in club football, attention now turns to who will be the difference-maker in what is destined to be a tightly-fought tie between two elite sides.

One man who could make just that difference is Sevilla's own Wissam Ben Yedder, who, this season, has shown that he feels right at home when playing against the best sides in Europe - and even more so when playing against English opposition.

With six goals in six games - eight in eight if you count his two goals against Istanbul Basaksehir in qualification - Ben Yedder sits joint-fourth in the Champions League top goalscorers charts. Having played 488 minutes since the Group Stage began, Ben Yedder sits behind just Harry Kane, Roberto Firmino and Cristiano Ronaldo in goals scored (with all three having played more Champions League minutes at this stage). He has outscored all Manchester United players.

On top of his Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán hat-trick against NK Maribor, Ben Yedder has proven to be dangerous against English opposition - something which might just strike fear into the Red Devils. Playing at Anfield for the very first time in his career, the Frenchman silenced the Kop with a poacher's goal just five minutes into the game. Sevilla would go on to draw 2-2.

In the return fixture in the Sánchez-Pizjuán, Ben Yedder would once again play a crucial role. With Sevilla 0-3 down at half-time against Klopp's side, the striker would find two precious goals to put Sevilla right back into the match and to help in the completion of a famous comeback. The first - a glancing header from an Ever Banega free-kick - would give Nervión hope; then his second - which saw him show nerves of steel by converting twice from the penalty spot (with his first needing to be retaken) - would give Guido Pizarro the platform to send Nervión into raptures on 93 minutes.

With another English opponent close on the horizon, we can only hope the French hitman will be in similarly lethal form this week and will add to his stunning Champions League record by scoring once again.
