The director of Sevilla FC's Data Department, Elías Zamora, represented the club at a conference attended by international media groups in LaLiga's headquarters in Madrid. At the event, which took place last weekend, we outlined our commitment to technological  development and innovation, given the key role it has played in our success in the 21st century and our ability to diversify into different areas of the business in the footballing industry.

Titled Sevilla FC: a benchmark in innovation and development in the area of data and projects. LaLiga's case study highlighted our outstanding work in these areas and its impact on the world of football globally. Elías Zamora explained the complexity of footballing business models and how, amid this, the ability to harness data can provide economic prosperity: "We try - through technology, innovation and Big Data - to extract valuable information in order to create new products and services that can generate different sources of income."

When they were made public, the technological projects carried out by the club caught the attention of media officials from three different continents. Notable club advances include ‘AiFootball’, ‘AiScouting’, ‘AiRadar’ - used to identify top talent on an international scale by creating unique technical and tactical parameters to ensure player analysis aligns authentically with the philosophy of Sevilla FC - ‘AiTicketing’ - which studies previous patterns to predict future match attendances -, ‘AiFans’ and ‘AiSponsoring.’ In tandem with LaLiga Tech, Sevilla also developed ‘Transfer Tracker’ as a follow up to the club's initial 'AiTracking' project which has been a global success.

Also making an appearance at the summit were Miguel Ángel Leal, director of the LaLiga Office for Technology and Innovation, and José Luis Quintero, Head of Customer Success at LaLiga Tech. The pair spoke on technology as an anti-piracy measure, the evolution of Mediacoach, a tool that minimises the risk of injury in football, OTT LALIGA+ and the technological strengths of LaLiga Impulso which is used to accelerate the economic growth of clubs.
