JESÚS NAVAS: "HUGE THANK YOU TO THE FANS FOR ALWAYS BEING BEHIND US"

Jesús Navas, the matchwinner on Saturday night , as well as Peque, Adrià Pedrosa y Tanguy Nianzou, all spoke after our home win over Getafe. First to speak, the club captain began by expressing his joy about the result: "I'm so happy! In spite of my hip problems this week I was really eager to play, to give the fans the victory they deserve.  We've been unlucky in the last few matches, but they were always behind us. I'm so proud of everyone."

"We gave everything today, just like the fans, so now we can enjoy the rewards. Now we have to build on this." Asked about the importance of keeping a clean sheet, Navas admitted "it was key. We threatened, but did so with caution. These three points are great for our confidence as a team."

Peque was similarly very happy to have played his first minutes in a Sevilla shirt in front of the home fans: "It feels great to play at the [Ramón] Sánchez-Pizjuán. We had been playing well and already deserved three points, but they've now come and we can now move on." 
He agreed with Jesús Navas on the importance of keeping a clean sheet against Getafe CF: "A thousand things happened during the game, and that says something about how difficult it was to win. We had to put in a really solid performance to compete. Even with a man down for the last few minutes, we were able to withstand the pressure and keep a clean sheet, which is very important."

"I felt at ease throughout the game, right from the start. Things became a bit more difficult as play continued and when the opposition were on the front foot in the second half I was able to receive more balls and find second chances on the rebound. Our hard work paid off and I'm pleased we gave the fans something to cheer about." On the subject of Jesús Navas, Peque described him as an role model: "What I can tell you is that he is an inspiration. I've only been here a short time but he's an example in every sense of the word. Even though he's won everything, the way he plays the game... it's so impressive." Finally, he expressed his gratitude to the fans: "We need the fans, we are all stronger together. It was noticeable after the sending off how much encouragement they give us."

Pedrosa, for his part, said that it was ‘a game in which we needed the three points. We came here with confidence, knowing that we could win. Victory taste very sweet." The left-back was surprised by the amount of time added on at the end: "When the fourth official lifted up the board, I was shocked. I was exhausted when the final whistle blew!"

The last player to speak was Nianzou, who was quick to share his excitement: ‘Very happy, we won and picked up the three points. We have to get back to training well for the next game.
