It rained during the first half at the Camp Nou, but the water was only really falling on Sevilla. To be more precise, it was a downpour. Sevilla, who started the match without a striker and with Vitolo and Correa furthest forward, were brushed aside in a first half which saw FC Barcelona overcome Sampaoli's side, leaving them with very little chance of coming back. The home side's intensity dropped in the second half and Sevilla deserved to get on the scoresheet with a consolation goal that Pablo Sarabia, coming off the bench at half-time, was tirelessly looking for but couldn't find. To rub salt into the wound, Vitolo received a second yellow card in the closing stages meaning he will miss Saturday's crucial match against Deportivo La Coruña at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
