Basakehir aren't just along for the ride, manager of the Turkish side, Abdullah Avci, made clear: “In the first-leg we were in the game right until the end. We always saw the glass as half full. Tomorrow we want to give everything we have right until the end. The start of the match will be important. We are going to try and give everything because our dream is to qualify for the Champions League. Whatever happens, we want to leave the field with our heads held high".
Avci also declared that he wanted his team, which also made many changes on the weekend, to think beyond just the result: “They made a lot of changes, like us, and couldn´t win either. In the end I want to be happy with my side's performance on Tuesday".
Also speaking, Turkish goalkeeper Volkan Babacar insisted Basakehir will go onto the field believing they can pull off a come-back: “It´s an important match for the history of the club. We lost in the first-leg but we fought hard. Tomorrow we're going to put in all our energy to progress. Those who play will be competitive".
"We have less experience than them, but every player has experience at their own level. We can't relax, we´ve played European football for three seasons now and every day is a chance to get better. It´s something which helps us keep fighting to be where this club wants to be”, he added.
