BERIZZO: “WE WON AFTER PERSISTING, AFTER PERSEVERING"

I like what the team did defensively against dangerous attackers. They gave us a defensive base to attack in a sustainable fashion. And the substitutes transformed the team, and made them more direct. Sarabia and Franco Vázquez made the team more dynamic. We sped up the game up-front with them on. We won after pressing so much, and that seems to be solution in every game, persevering."

Persistence and teamwork were amongst the other ideas the Sevilla coach emphasised: "We want everyone to understand that we go out and win together, we don't depend on anybody, we press collectively and the players are at the service of the team."

"Navas should be an example to any youth player who wants to be a Club great"

He praised, as he couldn't help but do, Jesús Navas, who this Wednesday put the cherry on top of the his 400^th appearance in a Sevilla shirt: "Jesús has contagious energy, beyond what he produces in footballing terms and has the enthusiasm to to train. He still has the tremendous passion of a kid playing. He should be an example to the young Sevillistas who want to be great players."

Now the only thing left to do is to look to the future - most immediately a visit to the newly opened Wanda Metropolitano, where Berizzo confirmed the team will go "with the hope to beat them". To finish up, and asked about the reception given to Vitolo, Berizzo responded positively in the press room, saying the crowd "had understood we ran the risk of a sanction and showed their anger in the right way, with whistles."
