SARABIA: “WE NEEDED THE CONFIDENCE BOOST THIS TIE HAS GIVEN US”

Pablo Sarabia was as happy as anybody after victory in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey: "We've done really well, in the away match we did a good job, we were tight and well positioned, taking advantage of our chances. And today in front of our own fans, we've had another great game and this qualification is totally deserved". It was a win "that we needed. Not only because people were annoyed but because the group was too. We needed this confidence boost that the tie has given us - alongside the La Liga match we won - to continue growing".

"They tried to destabilise us but we were strong and believed in ourselves"

Growing and leaving behind the poor run of form could be put down to the group's strength: "The unity of the group was fundamental. A lot of false things have been said about this group that try to destabilise us but we were strong and we've believed in ourselves. Of course things are talked about when things are going badly and even going well. It strengthens us and makes us react".

After qualification, it's now time to look to the league, though lending an eye to Friday's draw: "Every game is important to us. Now the league returns and our aim is to win on Sunday. It would be stupid to say we're not excited by the Cup because we're there, one little step away,  but we have to focus match by match but with an eye on it", he concluded.
