For the second game in a row Sevilla failed to take three points as one of the worst matches of the season, and possibly the worst at the Sánchez-Pizjuán, saw a performance that deserved no more than a point. Sevilla, with a number of changes in the starting line up, were not up to the task when it came to imposing their theoretical superiority against a seemingly inferior side on paper. The home side offered little, and only managed to equalise thanks to some individual skill from Stevan Jovetic. At the restart the team showed signs of improvement, but although they were more in the game than in the first half, they were too predictable in their movement and were unable to turn the screw as they have on other occasions in the final stages of a game.
