Yassine Bono continues to make a name for himself between the sticks of the Sevilla goal. The Moroccan 'keeper once again turned out to be a decisive figure in the victory over West Ham, without conceding and making essential saves, the intervention made early on in the game to stop Vlasic putting the English side in the lead sticks out.
The numbers don't lie and the Sevilla goalkeeper's spectacular performances are less and less surprising, putting himself in the running for LaLiga's Zamora award with the most clean sheets. The numbers show that Bono has kept a clean sheet on fifty separate occasions since he arrived in Nervión back in the 2019/20 season. These figures are broken down as follows: Bono hasn't conceded a goal in 31 matches in LaLiga (12 clean sheets in the current campaign), 8 in the Copa del Rey, 4 in the Champions League and 7 in the Europa League, including last night's and not forgetting the key role he played in the run-in to the sixth UEL title. A surprising fact about the Moroccan would be the goal he scored against Valladolid, adding to his 'goal tally'. It is also worth mentioning that back in his debut season, the clean sheet kept in the 3-0 win over Getafe was shared as Bono came off the bench to replace Tomas Vaclík early in the second half.
However, if there is a statistic that outshines all the rest in his 94 games as a Sevilla player, it is that he has kept a clean sheet in 53.19% of those games, something that very few are able to achieve and it speaks volumes of the progression made whilst under Julen Lopetegui. There is now an equally demanding and exciting final stretch to see how far the goalkeeper is capable of going, he also has competition from Marko Dmitrovic, who is experiencing his first few months in the Sevilla squad.
