Bryan Gil has expressed his contentment after receiving a call-up from the Spanish national team. The youngster, who made his return to the club during the January transfer window, first and foremost told us how the exciting news unfolded: "The plane had just landed and Óliver congratulated me and I asked him what for and that's when he told me. It's an honour to represent my country and I am very happy. What's true is that since I've been back, the coach and my teammates have supported me and I have gotten a lot of minutes under my belt. Coming back to Sevilla was the key".
What's more, Bryan wanted to thank national coach Luis de la Fuente, a manager that knows Bryan very well: "I've spent a lot of time with Luis. He knows a lot of the youth players and I've been lucky to have spent so many years with him with the under21s at the Olympics, the European championships... I am really happy and I'd like to thank him for the call-up". By the same token, Bryan was appreciative of Jorge Sampaoli, the coach who has given him his chance at Sevilla FC: "Sampaoli knew that I wasn't having a good start to the season, I wasn't playing and now I have come here. I've already told him that his philosophy of life has helped me and that he can count on me. The fact that he trusts me is also important".
In closing, Bryan gave his thoughts in relation to the two upcoming games with the national team against Norway and Scotland, respectively: "When you play in these types of competitions you won't find any pushovers but we are Spain and we have to win them both".
